RockTape

What is RockTape?

RockTape is a special kind of tape known as kinesiology tape. First used by acupuncturists and chiropractors in Japan, today kinesiology tape is used by practitioners throughout the world to treat injuries and improve athletic performance! While the use of kinesiology tape is often associated with athletes, RockTape is effective for the treatment of a wide variety of injuries and conditions, not just sports injuries. It is made from 97% cotton and 3% nylon, allowing it to be flexible and move with you, and its adhesive contains no latex and is hypo-allergenic. RockTape can be worn for up to five days following its application and because it's waterproof, can be worn in the shower or even while swimming.

What Makes RockTape Different?

Nothing in the universe is static, everything moves and the human body is no exception! Movement is the key to healing regardless of whether you're an athlete or someone suffering from common injuries or chronic aches and pains. RockTape application is based on a concept called Fascial Movement Taping or FMT.

Dr. Charlie is currently the only RockTape FMT Certified Medical Professional, or
Rock Doc for short,  in the Croydon, Bensalem, Levittown, Bristol and Tullytown areas!

Fascial Movement Taping focuses on your body's muscles moving together as a chain. If movement is inhibited, as it is with traditional athletic taping methods, healing time is impacted and athletic performance is detrimentally affected. What sets RockTape apart from traditional athletic tape is that it moves with you instead of restricting you, while still providing continuous support to the affected area being taped. Think of it as providing the stability and support of an ACE bandage, but without the bulkiness!

How Does It Work?

When properly applied, RockTape has a microscopic lifting effect underneath the skin and between the many layers of muscle and other tissues. This allows for congested blood and lymphatic vessels to flow more freely, resulting in increased blood flow to an injured area and also for swelling, and the other byproducts created by the body's natural inflammatory response, to be reduced at a faster rate.
